Our Program

Being overweight is a real struggle. It’s more than just your physical appearance.  It affects your emotional well-being, your professional success, and how you are treated by others.  Add to this the constant battle with yo-yo dieting that sets you up for failure.  Life on this roller coaster is both emotionally and physically draining.

We can help you break this cycle.  The Alexander Center for Obesity Surgery will help you succeed with the right combination of surgery, counseling, nutrition, exercise, and personal involvement with others who have been through the same thing.  You set your own goals and learn how to live your life differently by changing how you look at food, your true self, and life.  When this happens, you not only loose the weight but you decrease your risk for further health problems and increase your chance for a longer, healthier, happier, and more productive life.

Once you have made the decision to change your image, you will see life in a whole new way.  Like a butterfly sheds its cocoon, you will realize that you are free from the past and ready to begin a new life.

Our office staff members have been trained to give you the personal attention you need to facilitate the treatment process.  The hospital staff have been trained and oriented to give you outstanding medical care and personal attention.  A good number of nurses who have had our surgery will be involved in your care as well.

We are also a center for individuals who have had complications from previous obesity surgery elsewhere.  We help patients who have had stomach banding from other  surgeons who developed  complications or had poor results, patients who have had Roux-en Y previously who did not loose weight properly, or patients who regained their weight.

Dr. John H. Alexander, M.D. has operated not only on so many hundreds of patients but also on other doctors and nurses who chose him in particular to operate on themselves or members of their families.  Dr. Alexander is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a Member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
